BLOOMSBURG-- The Bloomsburg University field hockey team won their seventh straight game in a 5-2 victory over Kutztown in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action at Bloomsburg's Sports Stadium.

The Huskies got on the board just under two minutes into the game when Samantha Kropa (Tunkhannock/Lackawanna Trail) scored off of a Chelsea Due (Pen Argyl/PenArgyl) assist. Six minute later, Ashley Heckerd (Millerstown/Greenwood) scored unassisted and in the 12th minute Venessa Witman (Oley/Oley Valley) scored off of a penalty stroke to quickly make it 3-0 in favor of the Huskies. With five minutes to play in the first half, Maribeth Brozena (Larksville/Wyoming Valley West) added another Husky goal off of an assist from Morgan Wolf (Oley/Oley Valley) to increase the Bloomsburg lead to 4-0 at halftime.

In the second half, Kutztown got on the board with a goal from Mandi Turner assisted by Kelley Healey. However, the Huskies regained the four goal lead off of another score by Witman, this one assisted by Heckard. Kutztown added a goal from Healy off of an assist from Laura Belfatti in the 68th minute but it wasn't enough to overcome the Huskies' balanced attack and the game ended with a final score of 5-2.
